Something Blue by Bluebird was conceptualized after receiving many requests from vendors and clients alike for a baby Bluebird. We offer a thorough touch to “month-of” event management. Up until the day of the wedding, we are your advocate, we keep you sane, organized, and assist with making sure all of the details come together perfectly.

Our Colorado-based team is made up of creative and passionate individuals who want this to be the happiest day of your life. Throughout the planning process until the day of the wedding, we are your advocate, we keep you sane, organized, and assist with making sure all of the details come together perfectly.

We live for creating magical moments and memories that last a lifetime! We’re honored to be a part of your wedding day as your Something Blue!

When we say we believe in everyone’s right to party, we aren’t just quoting the Beastie Boys. We stand behind it. Here at Something Blue by Bluebird, we know the most beautiful moments in human history happen when people join together in celebration. Our differences are what make life so beautiful, and joy is our greatest common denominator. We are proudly in the business of embracing diversity and creating joy. If you share our values, we’ll see you on the dance floor.

Virginia Frischkorn

Principal/Founder

Virginia Frischkorn is the founder and principal of Bluebird Productions. She moved to Aspen, Colorado, after graduating from the University of Virginia in 2006 with a degree in Art History and Psychology. Originally drawn to Aspen for its winter ski season, Virginia quickly fell in love with the summer and autumnal months, as well as the amazing activities, food, and culture Aspen has to offer. She calls her hometown “the perfect mix of a small town with big city amenities.” After two years of playing in the snow as a ski instructor, she worked at The Little Nell as a Catering Sales and Events Manager where she developed a sharp attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and a high standard for providing the utmost quality of service for each of her clients — all of which would lead her to establish her own wedding and special events production company. Virginia’s background in fine art and her time spent exploring the world shape her approach to designing weddings and events, in which she also weaves in important details of each couple’s story and the setting of the celebration.

Virginia is based in both Denver and Old Snowmass, just 20 minutes from downtown Aspen. She lives with her two children (five-year-old Zach and three-year-old Elizabeth) and avalanche rescue dog, Zara

Krista Castro

Event Coordinator

Krista’s career began as an account executive at an advertising agency (she has a degree in strategic communications) and while she contemplated enrolling in business school, she instead moved to a job as a project manager at a retail company. That’s where she realized her passion for event planning and logistics prowess. Prior to joining the Bluebird team, she helped open a hotel, which was a great combination of her planning skills, love of beautiful spaces, and hospitality. Now she works on a variety of events and weddings to bring them to life, adding her unique perspective along the way.

Born and bred in Texas, Krista moved to Colorado, with her high school boyfriend, whom she lives with in Carbondale. She loves the new sense of adventure that living in the Roaring Fork Valley comes with, and in her down time enjoys trying out new exercise studios, attempting to become a better skier, online shopping even if she’s only “just browsing,” wearing hats, and seeing new places and tasting different cuisines.
